Comhar Partners Places Vice President in Southern California for Freed Associates

Executive search firm Comhar Partners has placed Carla D’Angelo as Vice President in Southern California for Freed Associates. Karen Turrini and Paul Herrerias, Managing Directors in Comhar Partners’ San Francisco office, led the assignment.

Freed Associates had plans to hire a business development executive for their Southern California location and recognized the many challenges that existed in finding just the right candidate. “After vetting a number of executive search firms, Comhar Partners was the clear choice for us,” said Kim Taverrite, Human Resources Leader at Freed Associates. “We worked with Karen Turrini and Paul Herrerias, both highly talented with deep expertise in executive searches.”

After the search plan was developed, Turrini managed the process and worked with Taverrite on a weekly basis. “Our multiple search parameters were very specific and Karen performed an outstanding job of understanding our needs, sourcing hundreds of candidates to get the best potential fit, and guiding us through the process of choosing the best candidate,” said Taverrite. “She is knowledgable, organized, and demonstrated excellent flexibility when our search timeframe was extended. After reviewing several candidates presented by Turrini and Herrerias, Freed Associates decided that Carla D’Angelo perfectly met their criteria for Vice President.

In her new role, D’Angelo will partner with Freed Associates’ Southern California-based clients to help solve their most complex problems.  D’Angelo is experienced working with large payer and provider networks, academic medical organizations, and county and public health systems. She is a subject matter expert in health plan mergers and acquisitions, business planning, market growth strategies, healthcare reimbursement, and social determinants of health.

D’Angelo joins Freed from COPE Health in Los Angeles, where she was a Vice President of Consulting. Previously she held Senior Vice President positions at YourCare Health Plan and Trillium Health, and was a director at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
